Training module scenarios

Preparation to the sessions

Before the session, the trainer should have prepared situtable slide presentations and training material. These documents are needed to support the learning process and to guide discussions. The trainer will make the presentations available to all participants before the training.


This should help participants to:

  • understand the aim and objectives of the module.
  • be familiar with learning materials and assessment activities. 
  • be clear about the timeframe for the sessions and activities. 
  • formalise the training approach and participant engagement

Material required

Note: Listed below are the essential materials required to deliver this module, however, this is not an exhaustive list. Trainers are welcome to review the material and make adjustments to suit training needs at local level.


 Materials:

  • Flipchart, A3 paper, colour pens and post-it note
  • Printout: lecture notes, seminar questions, answer worksheets
  • Templates - OUTSIDE Napkin Template, Idea storyboard, SWOT analysis, Integral Value Framework, VPC, BMC.

Equipment:

  • Internet connection and WiFi
  • Overhead projector, whiteboard, and large screen
  • Laptop connection and audio output

 

Trainer follows or can adapt this session plan to suit the specific training needs
  1. In a typical scenario, trainers or learners should expect to complete this session in 3 hours and 30 minutes.

  2. Review and customise Module 6 materials to suit the target audience.
  3. At the start of the session, give a brief overview of the module, describing the session activities, the support available, and the feedback process.
  4. Use/customise the material provided and give a short interactive talk about the topic in the section (use case studies or quizzes to facilitate continuous group discussion.
  5. Use the Think-Pair-Share method to facilitate more class discussion. This also helps to spot gaps in knowledge that could be addressed by the trainer.
  6. Allow group sessions to be autonomous and self-driven to maximise group-think and creativity.
  7. Monitor groups and encourage all participants to contribute to discussions and group activities.
  8. At the end of the session, use/customise questions provided to consolidate knowledge and address any misconceptions.
  9. Explain the content of the optional homework and highlight the benefit of completing the task to the participants.
